My work is largely concerned with examining constructs of ‘natural’ spaces within an Australian, neo-colonial context; from my position as a white Australian, with a settler-descendant history. Coming from a family of marine biologists, I am interested in how we form ideas (and who benefits from these ideas) of nature and wildness. I draw from writers, thinkers, and artists making work that confronts the entanglement of ecocide and genocide, and the social processes that engender them.

Currently, I work as Operations Manager, and as a designer, for APHIDS. Trained in graphic design and museum studies I am interested in the theoretical and practical intersections of these fields. I have previously worked in various capacities with museum collections across marine science, Indigenous collections and the performing arts. My design and photography work has been associated with projects held at; 2020 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Monster Theatres, Art Gallery of South Australia (SA), Mona Foma (Tas), the Museum of Western Australia (WA), ANTI Festival of Live Art (Finland), Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (WA), Printemps de Septembre (Toulouse), Australian Performing Arts Collection (Vic), Sydney Festival (NSW), Melbourne Writers Festival (Vic), Festival of Live Art (Vic) and Arts House (Vic); and been commissioned for organisations such as Field Theory, New Music Network, Papunya Tjupi Art Centre, The Substation, and Speak Percussion.

In collaboration with Aaron Claringbold my work has been a finalist in 2019’s Darebin Art Prize, Bundoora Homestead, & Incinerators Art for Social Change Award, Incinerator Art Gallery (both Vic), and has been shown at Dead End Film Festival (Vic), Cool Change Contemporary (WA), and Kings ARI (Vic). In 2019 I was Thinker-In-Residence at the Basic Spell feminist library (Tas), and in 2020 am an Artist-In-Residence at RMIT’s Photo Futures Lab. Upcoming presentations include works at ACE Open (SA), with recess presents, and Next Wave Festival 2020
